What we accept

• Fiction: Short stories, flash, micro fiction, and other fictional work.
• Nonfiction: Research, criticism, history, reporting, essays, opinion, conversation, and other nonfiction.
• Personal Essays: Flash and micro accepted.
• Poetry: Poems, sequences, prose poems, micro/flash poems, verse, and other poetic work.
• Hybrid & Experimental: Work that crosses genres, forms, or conventions.
• Folklore & Cultural Work: Folktales, retellings, cultural history, oral traditions, and work rooted in folktale.
• Something Else Entirely?
  Don’t see a category that fits your piece? Send it in! We welcome work that breaks the mold. If you feel it belongs in Homesick, pass it over.

Before Sending

• Please submit your own original work.
• Previously published work is welcome, provided you retain the necessary rights to republish it. By submitting, you confirm that you have the right to grant Table Salt permission to publish the work.
• Simultaneous submissions are welcome. If your work is accepted elsewhere, please let us know as soon as possible.
• We do not accept work generated by AI.
• Please submit one piece per category per reading period.
• For flash, poetry, and micro fiction, you may submit up to two pieces.
• If you need to withdraw a submission, please contact us.
• We move fast! Expect a response within 5 days. If we haven’t gotten back to you by then, it means your piece is under serious consideration.
• If 7 days pass with no word, drop us a line—we’d rather double-check our inbox than lose your work!
• Table Salt Press is a non-paying market at this time. All submissions are free!
• All accepted contributors will receive a complimentary digital copy delivered directly to their inbox upon publication.
